The Posterior Neck is comprised of multiple muscles, but we’ll be focusing on the upper Traps, the Occipital Triangle and Levator Scapulae.

The Suboccipital Triangle’s main function is to maintain poster, but they also articulate the head at the first two cervical vertebrae, you’re upper traps help extend the head and neck while the levator scapulae elevates your shoulder blade.

If your daily activities include sitting, standing or driving you need these muscles released. Your neck muscles are active in everything you do. If you are experiencing headaches, posterior neck pain or pain in the upper shoulder near your neck these three muscles could be the answer!
